Maharashtra CET Cell on Wednesday declared the schedule for MHT-CET, MAH-MBA/MMS-CET, MAH-LLB-CET and other entrance exams for professional courses in 2020.
Last week, the CET Cell issued a notice, announcing that the test is proposed to be conducted in the second and third weeks of May next year, over a period of 16 to 20 days.
While the petitioner had argued that the rules pertaining to institutional round make no mention of regional quota, the court said that the rules related to the institutional round and those related to regional quota need to be interpreted together.
The students have particularly objected to one of the admission rules for the course which requires that, irrespective of their scores in the entrance test, candidates editing their submitted application forms mid-way through the admission process be placed at the bottom of the merit list.
The admissions to diploma nursing programmes in the state continue to be conducted by colleges on their own, even though the law requires that admissions for professional courses be conducted centrally by the government.
